This type of contract gives a lot of power to the modeling agency, so if you are considering signing an exclusive contract, it is even more important to make sure that you work with a serious modeling agency that has your best interests in your heart. If you are opting for the „motherless“ route, it is very important that all the agencies you have signed with know each other. Some agencies can ensure that you have contracts with other agencies, even if they are in another market. You also need to know what the terms of your contract with your original agency are. You may not be your parent agency, but there may be a clause in the contract that you will not be able to sign at another agency less than miles away from them. There may also be a clause that requires you to sign a mother contract with them if you wish to expand into other markets while remaining signed with them. The last thing you want to do is break a contract and get into legal trouble. You also want to be respectful towards all your agents, an open and honest relationship is always the best! Modeling contracts are not a set of units. Each agency has a unique way of doing things, and each agency will have its own rules, rules and policies. The more contracts you sign, the more you will get to know their similarities and differences, but until you reach that point, you will feel a little lost. If you are a new or experienced model that requires specialized advice or management, we recommend you create your model and upload your photos so that our agents can check them out. Parent agencies are often smaller local modeling agencies. To help its models book more lucrative jobs and book important jobs, the parent agency will often promote its models to other larger market agencies such as New York, Paris, Milan and Tokyo.
